Dido and Aeneas – 2008

Soprano Daniela Leska delighted in the role of Sorceress in Purcell’s operatic masterpiece Dido and Aeneas as part of the ELDERHALL Evenings 2008 Concert Season.
The costumed and semi-staged production was conducted by Keith Crellin, directed by Rob Croser and showcased the Elder Conservatorium Chorale and Chamber Orchestra. “Written in 1689, Purcell’s only true opera is the tragic tale of two lovers torn apart by the gods,” says Keith Hempton. “Music of sublime beauty portrays the passionate expression of human emotions.”
