Daniela Leska was honoured to premiere “Five Bells” for Soprano Solo and Guitar Quartet by Australian composer Joseph Littlefield in the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ Dining Hall on the evening of 26 October, 2019.
The poem also inspired Australian painter, John Olsen to create a work of art by the same name. Olsen’s ‘Five Bells’ was on exhibition at the NSW Art Gallery during the performance. Olsen was later commissioned to feature his work as a mural on the Sydney Opera House and called it ‘Salute to Five Bells’.
The quartet comprised of the following guitarists: Joseph Littlefield, Murilo Tanouye, Oskar de Mari-Jones and Roger Lock.
The event marked the 36th Annual Russel Bedford International Conference.
